Dr. Darren J. Ranco is a citizen of Penobscot First Nation from Maine, an Indigenous Anthropologist and Professor.

He talks with Dr. Allan Bonner about his research paper titled, “Traditional Lifeways and Storytelling: Tools for Adaptation and Resilience to Ecosystem Change”. This paper articulates how Indigenous storytelling is seen as a way to document and adapt to environmental change and hold on to cultural connection through generations. There is importance in recognizing Indigenous leadership and knowledge in addressing climate and environmental change.
