About us

We are an Indigenous non-profit organization representing the Peskotomuhkati Nation at Skutik. Our fisheries department focuses its efforts on environmental conservation and restoration, as well as community involvement in our monitoring and restoration activities.

Job Description

This summer position will explore our many environmental monitoring and conservation efforts within SWNB, which include baseline monitoring to identify species present in local watersheds, monitoring water quality, post-barrier removal monitoring, environmental enhancement activities such as tree plantings as well as beach clean ups, and community outreach events.

General Duties Include

  • Monitoring fish presence/absence through tracking equipment as well as various fishing methods.
  • Data entry
  • Water quality monitoring
  • Tree Planting
  • Other duties as required


  • Student who is currently attending high school or post-secondary education and returning to school in the fall
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record


  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Comfortable in various remote locations, construction sites, and weather conditions
  • Able to multi-task efficiently
  • Team worker
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Creative problem solving
