About Us
We are an Indigenous non-profit organization representing the Peskotomuhkati Nation at Skutik. Our conservation department focuses its efforts on environmental conservation and restoration, as well as community involvement in our monitoring and restoration activities.
Job Description
As an Environmental Technician with PRGI, you can expect to be working in the field as part of our environmental conservation and restoration team. In this role you will be monitoring and collecting data on fish presence/absence, water quality, and more.
General duties include:
- Data collection of fish presence/absence and water quality
- Data management incl. data entry and organization
- Restoration activities such as tree planting
- Equipment maintenance and organization
- Assist in organization and attend outreach events, such as beach clean-ups and tree planting events
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a relevant field an asset
Skills:
- Organized and detail oriented
- Comfortable is various remote locations, boats, construction sites, and weather conditions
- Able to organize and prioritize tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in data collection methods and entry an asset
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Able to work flexible hours
- Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and flexibility in undertaking new work assignments as needed
